Spectations

A study, of words, in crimson, sometimes blue, rarely yellow.

I Ask My God

I ask my God for strength,

Strength to stand by your side.

I ask my God for patience,

Patience to watch you fight for me.

I ask my God for clairvoyance,

Clairvoyance to see beyond your perfections.

I ask my God for beauty,

Beauty to match up to your desires.

I ask my God for faith,

Faith to accept all your realities.

I ask my God for mercy,

Mercy for loving a mere man as such.

But in the end,

As my patience ends,

As my faith shatters,

I ask my God for hell,

Hell to protect me from your madness.
