Spectations

A study, of words, in crimson, sometimes blue, rarely yellow.

Through The Eyes of A Dreamer

Through the eyes of a dreamer,
Life seems so
Versatile…

So many different faces,
So many different angles,
So many different truths.

Through the eyes of a dreamer,
Love seems so
Wonderful…

So many different forms,
So many different promises,
So many different symphonies.

Through the eyes of a dreamer,
Music seems so
Beautiful…

So many different instruments,
So many different words,
So many different expressions.

Through the eyes of a dreamer,
I only see,

The versatility of life,
The wonder of love,
The beauty of music.

& I choose to slumber.
& I choose to dream.

Because the dreamer in me
Fears the reality
That I might witness
Through waking eyes

Of a child not yet mature,
Of a girl not yet a woman,
Of a heart not yet strong enough.

For the dream is yet too fragile,
& the reality has not yet lost it’s fury,
& the sound of shattering glass,
Has not yet grown old.

& through the eyes of a dreamer,
From behind the bullet-proof glass,
I stand still watching
As time passes me by.
